Breakin' was not just a hobby but a significant part of my life that left a lasting impact on me. The culture of Breakin' and Hip Hop had a profound influence on every aspect of my being, shaping not just my movement but also my creativity, particularly in the realm of photography. Through Breakin', I learned invaluable lessons about the importance of originality, resilience, and building strong bonds with others. It taught me to think on my feet—both figuratively and literally—necessitating adaptability and composure, especially in challenging situations. Beyond the physicality of the dance form, Breakin' served as a bridge connecting me with diverse individuals from various backgrounds, broadening my perspective, introducing me to fresh concepts, and fostering new friendships. My deep involvement in the scene allowed me to intimately understand the essence of Breakin'. Given my belief that existing photographs failed to truly capture the dynamism and soul of Breakin', I drew upon my amassed experiences in art, professional endeavors, and time to meticulously craft the energy and spirit of the Bboy jams I documented in Hong Kong, showcased in the series below.
